CommentsThe structure contains two identical complexes in the assymetric unit; (1) Fab chains (B;A) - antigen chain C; (2) Fab (E;D) - antigen F. No conformational changes for bound TF comparing with free TF [PDB: 2HFT]. No major conformational changes for bound 5G9 Fab comparing with unbound Fab [PDB: 1FGN]; while some differences in 5G9 Fab conformation appear significant: shifts of the CDR loops; especially L1 and L3; and a 30° swing of the TyrH98 side chain is critical for making two hydrogen bonds to the TF main chain carbonyl oxygen of Lys149 and the side chain amide of Asn171. The complexes 5G9 Fab - TF (this structure) and D3h44 Fab - TF [PDB: 1JPS] can be superimposed with r.m.s.d. of 1.71 Å using all Ca atoms. Paratopes and epitopes for complexes 5G9 Fab - TF and D3h44 Fab - TF are almost identical.
